My friends car has needed the axels changed already on his 2005 c230 kompressor ( which was bought new in 05 for 40 thousand dollers ) .. the car only has 47 thousand miles and I think that the axel shouldnt need replacing the car also has needed new caskets and a buncha oil leak problems . it also broke down at 700 miles along with a buncha other issues . its also getting horrible gas mileage like 12 miles per gal no matter how fast or slow its driven . the car is still under warranty but he has to take it in about every week what a hassle . I think its a lemon what do you think ? thanks for reading
The car is definitely a lemon. Unless they suffer some kind of trauma (a hard landing if the car becomes airborne, you hit a big rock, etc), the axles should last for hundreds of thousands of miles (they usually never need to be replaced). It shouldn't be leaking oil, and the gaskets shouldn't need replacing at this point, either.
As for gas mileage, that particular model is rated at 20city/29hwy. It sounds like something is causing it to run too rich.

you shouldn't have to replace the axle at all
Replacing the axle is something that should not have to be looked into until the car has a lot more miles on it. As for all the other problems, looks like your friend got a lemon. If you've still got the warranty then use it, leave the car there until they fix the problem(s). Hopefully they will fix everything before he runs out of warranty. Good luck
