Cayenne? I am in desperate need of some advice...! i am going to be 20 on November and i am getting my new car....! but i don't know if i should get an SUV or a Coupe? i am a sophisticated and stylish girl but NOT TOO GIRLY GIRLY. I study Interior Architecture and love my career, which requires me to do a lot of scale models and stuff that i need to carry from one place to another with my car! one thing that i am is a neat freak.. i always want to have my car and everything very clean! please help me decide and tell me which should be a better car for me?? THANKS!! :) i would appreciate a lot you opinions!
For 2007, the bmw 328 coupe is the best value of the bunch. It only seats 4, but has a big trunck for your stuff. It is truly incredible to drive and looks hot. And for under 40k it truly is a bargain.

Go for the Cayenne. Not as many people have it as the X5 and its a really really nice car!
If you want a coupe go for the BMW but make sure its the 335. The 225 is kinda sluggish!

If you are spending the kind of money these candidates imply, you should have a good ownership experience with whatever you select, with one exception.
In spite of what Doc said, statistically, Mercedes have built a history of poor reliability and durability. In their annual Car Issue, Consumer Reports listed three makes that have the highest Frequency of Repair records -- Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, and Range Rover. Buicks take fewer trips to the shop for reasons other than routine maintenance than Mercedes, and the Mercedes M-class (Their SUVs) have been particularly troublesome.
My business depends entirely on word of mouth, and if I recommended Mercedes to my clients, my business would soon dry up for lack of good referrals.
As for the choice between an SUV or a Coupe, I'd go with a coupe. You want your driving experience to be pleasant, and SUV's just can't repeal Newton's Laws. As someone said of the Porsche Cayenne, you can teach a pig to dance, but in the end, it's still a pig (although I know one Architect who is happy with hers).
SUVs have a bit more headroom if you are hauling models of high rise buildings, but interior models are probably mostly flat. The BMW 328i (the 325i has been discontinued) has a fold-down rear seat, so most models should fit one way or another. And when the model fits without folding the rear seat, you close it in the trunk and your neatness compulsion is satisfied.
Another candidate, thinking outside the box, is the BMW 328i Sports Wagon, which is now once again available in both 2 and All Wheel Drive. My wife drives the previous E46 version and is delighted with it. The 535ix is a bit bigger, but only comes in AWD.
