Can 2000 Mercedes s-class rims fit on a 1998 E-class sedan

The Mercedes E class vehicle has a slightly smaller, compact wheelbase, compared to the S class and C class vehicles.E class vehicles are not equipped with the wide stance and tires of the Mercedes C class.So wheels are does not match with s-class.
