Not that I can afford one now, I hope to in the next couple years. I love the G-Wagon but when it comes down to my next vehicle, I want to go back to a Jeep Wrangler for the open air experience, but to many people out in New England have them and I have yet to see the Jeep wave. But I know that Germany has a convertable G-wagon. Why not here?

I currently live in the european union which includes germany. The problems is that the cars made here do not have the same safety ratings as required by the us goverment, here cars are built very bad, therefore not permissable in the states

You'll have to ask Mercedes. Most likely they don't see a sufficient market in the US. It's also possible that they can't economically build them to US specs.
