...on it makes a clunking noise? Also in automatic mode it takes a bit of time to get up to speed and the engine feels like it is not engaging. I think i may have a clutch or gearbox prob, i have been told the engine is meant 2 do this as it is a protection from the driver over revving and causing damage. does anyone have any ideas or similar probs.

Do you have F displayed on the Dash? is so the gearbox is in limp home mode and there is a problem.

It needs diags first to identify the fault but on a semi auto I would guess the selector module on top of the gearbox.
