This type of car is sorta kinda collectible but isn't a "hot ticket", so getting a high price is going to take a long, long time, and the value isn't going to go up very much either.

Why is that? Because the car is very heavy on gas and expensive to repair, and buyers know this. The smaller, lighter and (to some) prettier 280SL is in higher demand, and the later 560SL is a much improved version of your car, and consequently brings a higher price.

This would be a good time to sell a 450SL--things aren't going to get better.
