I have renctly purchased ad mercedes s430 2003 year at 63 k miles from north east, Newjersy and everything is fine as usual. I moved to atlanta(90 degrees hot temp) recently and now feel something is happening with the vehicle transmission. Currently it wont let me put the transmission from Park P to Drive/N/R or even bring the transmission out of Park. After repeated attempts of pushing the break pedal down and doing some magic prayers , this comes out the P and after that the transmisison is working fine between D-R- and N. The problem is only bringing the transmisison out from Park P. Friends are buzzing that transmission fluid or something like that becuase of hot weather.. I will definetly take this to mercedes service centre and get this repaired but i want to just learn about the issue, what it means from your expert advice before i blabber something infront of the service man. thank you for advising...

Sounds to me like the bushings in the linkages between the shift lever and the transmission have worn out. I had a 1983 Cadillac that did this once, and that was my problem
