It's done on computer !

The Dealer will have to reset it for you. It's in the special software they use to do the diagnostics on your vehicle.

You can buy programmes that you can do this job via your laptop at home but I don't know the name of the programme. You plug the computer into the engine via a USB port or serial cable. This may be more trouble tan its worth and costly.

Hi there, Mercedes use one of the most comprehensive softwares available on their cars for Diagnostic and logging a cars history, you can reset the service light but it will be recorded and when its next connected to the Star/Wiz diagnostic kit this will actually show that it has been reset inccorectly. This wont affect the car in anyway but if you have or are intending to sell the car on at some point and do so claiming full service history this could leave you open to a charge of fraud as the system will recognise this as Mercedes are configured in such a way that its based on a time based servicing system and the onboard computers will have the information that the vehicle hasnt been serviced as it should have been
