Let's see:
2006 CLS 55 AMG
About 469hp, supercharged compressor engine
0-60mph in about 4.5 Seconds.

2006 BMW 7 Series
BMW 7-Series is powered by a 4.8-liter V8 with 360 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque.
0-60mph in about 5.8 Seconds at the best.

If speed is what you are after then go for the mercedes. It looks and performs better in my opinion.
However, The Beamer handles a lot better and might give you more driver-feedback.

Regardless, both are excellent car-choices. In the end, you are the only one who can and should decide.
