Ok the Dog and Lemon Guide says for 1998 - 2005 "Expensive, shoddily built and chronically unreliable. One of the worst vehicles of it's type ever built. Reliability - Appalling. Overall Rating - Avoid like the Plague."

The overall quality of M-B cars has dropped appallingly in the ten years between 1995 and 2005 and they have been thoroughly hammered for it. Some models have been described as designed and built by monkeys.

Too many models in too many versions and too many gadgets that work for a while then fail.

Want an proper four wheel drive ? - Buy a Toyota Landcruiser, want a soft roader? - buy a Subaru. Want a luxury sedan? - buy a Lexus.
